write-back与write-through什么意思？

看一篇英文文档，写MMU时，有这样一句话，“write-back or write-through data caching”不明白什么意思？ :(

麻烦你把e文贴出来啊，没有上下文，怎么理解啊

这是关于多处理器共用存储器时防止数据出错的两种策略，
write-back cache与ram同步改变
write-through 只改ram

但是有人这样贴：
write through: upon write, update data in cache and at the same time, update data in memory.
write back: upon write, update data in cache, and flush the data into memory when the cache line is to be replaced, or flush cache instructions are executed explicitly.

楼上好像跟这个意思相反，到底那个对呀？

Write-back是指数据变化的时候只修改cache，不修改memory。
Write-through是指数据变化的的时候cache和memory一起修改。Through就是透过cache写memory的意思。
