SMBus Host: A system that communicates with SMBus device.It usually will embody some or all of a system\'s power management control.To accomplish this, it communicates with the Smart Battery and uses this infomation in excecuting its power management policy.

SM bus host 就是能主动控制/读取其它client设备（如battery等）的设备吧

power management control就是风扇转速，speed step等动作吧，他们也是SMBus host的要控制的事情。SM=system management, 你可以去看看DDK上面的描述，其实它是微软定义的东西。

Host must support the host notify protocol. Host may implement the optional #SMBALERT line if devices in the system use it. then it is Host device.

那么master和host是什么关系呢，传输是由master发起的，是host决定master在什么时候发起传输吗？
